Charles E. Rines, Jr.

Charles E. Rines, Jr. of Stuarts Draft passed away 2/12/17.

He was one of the first certified EMTs in TN and volunteered with the Jefferson Co. Rescue Squad, served in the U. S. Air Force, zinc miner, Deputy Sheriff Dandridge, TN, Security Officer TN Valley Authority AL and retired as a Federal Mine Inspector from the Charlottesville, VA office.  After retirement, he worked at Carter Machinery.  He took excellent care of his wife until his death.

Survivors include: Wife Dolly (Dot) Winstead Rines, daughters Jeanie (Sam) Surratt, Camellia (Mark) Vail; sons Doug Rines, Richard (Lisa) Rines; grandchildren Steve and Jack (Jenny) Surratt, Scott and Andy (Jessica Marshall) McNorton; April (Chris) O’Baugh, Mandy (Kevin) Johnson, J. D. Rines (Brea Phipps), Michael (Angela) Lamma; great grandchildren Alexis Lamma, Shyann Cannon, Peyton, Lane, Bryce and Landon McNorton, Kaileigh Marshall, Hunter adn Ayden Johnson; sisters Edna Killion, Leona McGuire; sisters in law Ann Collins, Martha and Delores Winstead; brothers in law Tex (Molly) and George (Ruby) Winstead and his loving dog Gypsie

Preceded in death by parents Charlie and Grace Workman Rines, maternal in laws Mack and Laura Wolfe Winstead; sisters and brother in laws Beverly (Charles) Fronsman, Josephine (J. C.) Brinkley, Charlie Rader; daughter in law Vicky Rines, great granddaughters Arya Lamma, Evelyn Miller; sisters in law Trubie (Connie) Farmer, Shirley Bragg; brothers in law Esco, Lon, Ray and Buford (Louise) Winstead, Glenn Collins

Per his wishes, there will be no formal services. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 18 from 1-3 pm at the home of Sam and Jeanie Surratt.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stuarts Draft Rescue Squad.
