Brenda Kay Desper Engebretson

Brenda Kay Desper Engebretson, 62, of Crimora went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 28, 2016.

She was born September 12, 1953, in Staunton, VA, the daughter of the late William Randolph Desper and Edith Belle Mason Desper.               

Brenda is survived by her husband, Larry Dale Engebretson, four children, Troy Layne, Tonia Johnson and husband Ron, Eric Salemi, and Ann-Marie Salemi Allen and husband James, four sisters, Judy Wood, Alice Rugsby, Mathilda Strickler, and Gloria Hewitt, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

She graduated from Waynesboro High School in 1971. In her years Brenda was an employee of Genicom in Waynesboro many years then at McKee Foods.

Brenda was always the life of the party wherever she went. She knew how to make anyone smile. She always made sure her family knew she loved them. Brenda was always one to make guests, friends, and family feel welcomed. Her sense of humor would light smiles on everyone’s face. She always knew the best way to comfort people in times of tragedy and sorrow. She was loved by many.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2016 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, VA.    Interment will follow at Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro, VA.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home.
