I was a little girl and me and my sister went to church when Pastor Berry had the church on Charlotte Ave., then they moved to brookerdale rd and came and picked us up on the bus, that is where we learned the Gospel, a seed was planted in my heart, In 1978 I surrendered my life to the LORD Jesus Christ and ask for forgiveness and accepted Hm as my Saviour, 39 years later, my husband is a pastor in Norfolk Va. and thanks to the LORD for giving Pastor Berry a burden for children and starting the church, I am a fruit from His ministry. Rest in Peace Pastor Berry and thank you for your faithfulness to our LORD and SAVIOUR, Praying for comfort to your family. Hebrews 6:10" For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love which you have shewed toward his name and that ye have ministered to the saints and do minister."

Pastor Berry lead my grandmother Betty Sorrells to the Lord many years ago, his testimony and ministry changed her life. That life changing expeirience was something she shared with me and many others. In short, I am indebted to Pastor Berry, if he would not have been faithful to share the Gospel with my grandmother I may have never come to Jesus as my personal savior!! Mrs. Berry, Dottie,Tommy,Sammy,Raymond & family, I have known Mr. Berry since I was a little girl. He took us kids at church on visitation on Sat. mornings & then back to his home to have snacks or treats that Mrs. Berry cooked & played games with us. Mr. Berry was a kind,Loving & a sweet man. The last time I was at his house Mr. Berry & I sat on his front porch talking with me about all the good times we have had in our life & told me how sorry he was about my Daddy & ask about my mom & Brother at Shoney's.We had a good talk and about a couple of funny things. But one thing I do not care how old you are. Mr. Berry would always ask you if you were saved & how he wanted everyone to be in Heaven. And such a Gentlemen made sure I got to my car save & opened & closed the door. Mr. Berry I bet you are in Heaven singing in the choir & playing your Accordion. I will always remember you & for taking my Granddaddy fishing. I will miss you Rev.Berry & always remember going to sing at Christmas on an old bus with us kids.
