Gerda was a wonderful person and neighbor when we lived in Waynesboro. Such a great conversationalist with a friendly smile for everyone. Her kindness to her pets was beautiful. She is missed.

I met Gerda over a year ago while walking my dog at the River Walk. We would share many talks of family and some of her days growing up in Germany. She was a special lady who deeply loved her dog, Bella, her husband and daughters. Life was not easy for her and she struggled with many obstacles. The last few times I saw her, even though she was obviously not well, she was open to prayer. I believe she passed on the be with the Lord with much peace and joy. She was a blessing to know.

I was sincerely saddened by the passing of Ms. Mailer. She and her husband were two of my favorite customers on my mail route; such nice people. She will be dearly missed.
