We are truly sorry to (belatedly) learn of the passing of Dr. Wadley. We both had the distinct pleasure of serving along side him at Walter Reed Army Medical Center for several years. Dr. Wadley was a phenomenal and kind individual and certainly excelled at his specialty in medicine. We remember him fondly.

Dear Nancy,

I've just received an e-mail from Rhodes College telling of John's passing, giving his obituary. I am so sorry to hear about this, and I send you so much sympathy from my family. His parents, Marie and Hugh, and my parents were best friends. I feel that I have lost a cousin. I promise to write you, later.

Love, Cora

Dear Nancy, Lisa and Patrick.

I sent two pictures when John and and Nancy visited us in Holland. I think about 10 years ago. On this picure we can see John, my brother Dick and Loes. They are now together again !!!

Arnold & John are first cousins. John was 2 years older. When Arnold was 6 years old his mother died. The Kuhlenkamp sisters moved him from Chicago to West Tennessee. Aunt Marie Wadley had Arnold in the summer and he & John grew up together. They both became physicians. It is interesting to see that they both graduated from the same college and medical school. The Wadley family and John were wonderful influences on my husband. We regret his passing.

Ever since we were teenagers in Memphis 65 years ago,John was not only an ally but was a faithful friend.John took the blame for me when I got us in trouble. We sang in the church choir together. But my first ever conversation with John was when I interviewed him at age 12 for the junior high newspaper, about his becoming the youngest to ever receive a ham radio license. At age 17,John,Bob,&I had fun traveling 2 weeks to Gatlinburg TN.In later years John did volunteer medical work in Jamaica,West Indies and also survived a storm while sailing to the Bahamas with his sailing friends. We are praying here for spiritual strength for Nancy,Lisa,Patrick,Conner, and Mason.

Nancy,
We know that John was a loving husband and that you miss him dearly. But know that he is in the loving presence of God and is patiently waiting for the day when you will be reunited. In the mean time, know that there are people here on this earth that will support you and give you strength to endure the pain of your loss until that day comes.

It has been a pleasure to know Dr. Wadley for the past 8 years. It was ever apparent that he was a kind person with integrity of character, not often found. His love for Nancy, his children and grandchildren was always obvious. I know his life touched many.He will be missed!
