David Luther Humphreys

Waynesboro, VA

David Luther Humphreys, 54, passed away Friday, June 24, 2016 at the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville due to an extended illness. He was born July 5, 1961 in Waynesboro, the son of the late Martin L. Humphreys and the late Mary L. Mienert.

David was raised by Mary Humphrey, Gwen Bartlebaugh and the late Glenn Humphreys of Waynesboro. He was a navy veteran of 4 years. His hobbies were cooking, model cars, sitting on porch with his coffee and dog, Missy, The Dallas Cowboys, fishing and being with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Humphreys of Kentucky; two daughters, Ashley Riddle of Waynesboro and Amanda Pitsenbarger of Staunton; three grandchildren, Trinity Riddle, Benjamin, Cameron Pitsenbarger; one brother, Frank Humphreys and Peggy Randall of Grottoes; one sister, Nancy Cason of Fishersville and her children, Dana Cash and Andrew Wilkins and ex son-in-law, Shawn Riddle; numerous family from Kentucky; special friends, Sean Hamlett, Stephanie Kerrington, Christian Floyd, Pam Brice, Roy Shifflett, Tina Nielson Colavito and the Augusta Spartan Football Nation.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Wayside Baptist Church, 45 Turk Mountain Lane, Waynesboro 22980, conducted by The Rev. Jerry Cline, Pastor.
