Zena Scheider

Zena Scheider, 28, of Staunton, VA., passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024. She was born in Savannah, GA, on May 1, 1996 to Russell and Pamela Scheider. 

Zena graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 2014 and later attended James Madison University. She worked in management at Papa John’s Pizza in Blacksburg, VA.  Zena enjoyed strategy and tabletop games, putting together models, and spending time with friends and family. She will be remembered for being a good-hearted person who was also headstrong, smart, ambitious, and always had a smile on her face. She was active supporter and member of the LGBTQ+ community.  Zena loved a good debate on anything and everything and will pick your brain on just about any topic, but it always ended in endless laughter, for her it was always lighthearted - unless it was in the midst of a moment of very dark humor that she and her sister, Kat, shared.

 Zena was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal great-grandparents, and her grandmother, Donna Hirtriter. 

 In addition to her mother, Pamela, father Russ and his wife Beth, those left to cherish her memory include her sister, Kat Moran and husband, Jimmy; their children: Blakelee, Kolsyn, and Tate Moran; as well as her other siblings, Skyler, Bianca, Lucy, Mary Alice, and Liam; maternal grandparents, Max and Sharon Hirtriter; paternal grandparents, Bill and Dell Scheider; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025 from 1pm until 3pm at KW Commonwealth Office at 2542 Jefferson Hwy, suite 106, Waynesboro, VA.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Charlton and Groome Funeral Home in Fishersville.
