William "Wade" Daves

William “Wade” Daves, 56, of Waynesboro, died on Monday, March 13, 2023 in Waynesboro. He was born in Charlottesville to William Daves and Catherine (Daves) Lang.

Wade was a 1984 graduate of Stuarts Draft High School. He enlisted in the Navy after high school. Wade worked as a desk clerk and for the Swannanoa Golf Course.

Wade was preceded in death by his father and mother; step-father, Randoph R. Lang, Sr.; uncle, Edwin E. Childs; wife, Valerie Daves and stepsister, Sharon McGhee.

He is survived by his daughter, Kaitlee R. Daves Dunham of  Staunton; sister, Mary Daves Lang of Charlottesville; step siblings: Sharalyn Midgett, Gayle Biggers, Donna Givens, Bucky Lang, Karen Faircloth, and Vickie Whitlock; as well as extended family and friends.

Visitation will be  held from 6-8 pm on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home.

 A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, March 17, 2023 at Augusta Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery.
