William “Bill” Edward Bentz, 79, of Waynesboro, passed away Monday, May 31, 2021, in Charlottesville, Virginia. He was born September 21, 1941, in Charles Town, West Virginia, son of the late Garnett Randolph Bentz and Louise Virginia Shull Bentz.
Bill was a graduate of Charles Town High School and was retired from the City of Alexandria Traffic Department. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose - General Assembly, Illinois Lodge 300 and locally was a member of the Waynesboro Moose Lodge.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Stickles.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Nancy Bentz; his sister, Joan Slusher of Charles Town, WV; his nieces and nephew, Susan Stickles of Alexandria, VA, Terry Bunch of Georgia and Richard Stickles, Jr. of Alexandria, VA,, and his brother-in-law, Richard Stickles of St. Augustine, FL
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the Staff of UVA ICU – South Tower, for their excellent care during Bill's last days.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 P. M., Wednesday, June 9, 2021 in the Chapel of Charlton and Groome Funeral Home 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, conducted by Pastor Steven Lookabaugh
