William Vicory Obituary

William Eugene Vicory, 93, of Waynesboro, passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at his home. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on October 16, 1932, a son of the late Charles William Vicory and Emma Martha Allen.

William proudly served in United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Fountain Lake Volunteer Fire Department, the Masonic Lodge, Shriners, and the Scottish Rite.  William worked as a school bus driver and his greatest joy was taking students to concerts, football games, competitions and more. Often his wife, Ethel was his riding buddy and their favorite times together were these. William also enjoyed woodworking, bead work, ceramics, painting, and diamond art, he couldn’t stop doing crafts. His favorite titles were “Dad” and “Papaw” and he will be remembered for his sayings of “Take care and be careful” and “Oh Boy!”

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Ethel M. (Futrell) Vicory; step-father, Fred Sears; all of his siblings; son, Davey Neal; granddaughters: Rebecca and Mary; and his oldest sister and best friend, Etta Mae.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Linda Alexander of Lonsdale, AR, Patsy  Gregory (Sandy) of Florida, and Lloyd Neal of Ohio; grandchildren: John Pittman (Jessica), Jessica Davis (Terry), Trystin Alexander, William Pittman (Sam), Christian Alexander (Hayleigh), Niki Stultz (Jim), Heather Huston (Shawn), Jody Bilbrey (Marianna) and Robin Clemens; great grandchildren: Ethan, Kylah, and Oliver Pittman, Thadien Davis,  Keith Alexander,  Aiden, Rylan, Lunah,and Theia Pittman,  Everest, Anthony “AJ” Alexander, Jordan and Taylor Workman, Keyra Stump, Zackery Clemons, Sara Clinard, Zoey, Irene, Mary Jo and Emma Hart, Michael  Huston, Jada Kinstle, MeKayla  Neal, JC, Kadi, and Kayla Bilbery, and Mallory and Emma Williams; 19 great great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
