William "Randy" Holmes

William “Randy” Holmes, 68, of Lyndhurst, was born on December 8, 1957, in Marion, Virginia. He was called home on January 30, 2026, to be reunited with loved ones who passed before him, including his parents, Samuel Grant Holmes and Georgia Leona Widener Holmes; his brother, Daryll Holmes; his brother and sister-in-law, Sam Holmes and Alice “Flookey” Holmes; and his sister-in-law, Yvonne Holmes (wife of Robert “Bobby” Holmes).

He leaves behind his wife, Melody Holmes; his children, Tabitha Troxell and her significant other, Isaac, and Stephanie Hansen and her husband, Robert; his grandchildren, Tyler Robinson, Trent Cote, and Padme Hansen; his siblings, Robert “Bobby” Holmes; Dennis Holmes and his wife, Theresa; Sandy “Sis” Martin and her husband, Don; and Steve Holmes and his wife, Iris Anne. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Randy was a machine operator with Hershey Chocolate in Stuarts Draft until his retirement on disability. A man of simple pleasures, he was happiest when surrounded by family and engaged in a good board or card game. He always kept a stash of Little Debbie cakes close by and never missed his nightly bowl of ice cream. In his quiet moments, he found joy in writing poetry and loved sharing his poems with anyone willing to read them.

His memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him, and he is now at peace.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 15, 2026, in the Chapel of the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Dr., Fishersville, conducted by the Rev. Don Martin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., the hour of the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions, in his honor, to the American Parkinson Disease Association, P.O. Box 61420, Staten Island, NY 10306.
