Wanda Kay (Roberson) Chaplin

Wanda Kay Chaplin, 62, of Waynesboro, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022, at her residence.  She was born in Staunton of June 19, 1960, daughter of the late Elmer Ray Roberson and Mary Margaret Lawrence (Moats).

Wanda was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and was retired with 25 years of service as a housekeeper at multiple places.  She enjoyed various interests including gardening, home decorating, DIY crafts, cooking and watching her Western TV shows.  She also enjoyed taking care of her one and only great-grandson and spending time with family.

A friend to everyone, she was kindhearted with a sweet personality and caring nature. She was willing to help anyone and was always up for a “good time”.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former spouses, Brent Lynn and Dennis Chaplin, whom she remained close friends with until their passing.

Survivors include her partner of ten years, Donnie Sanderson and former spouse and close friend, Shaun Bell; her daughters and sons, LaShaunda Roberson of Waynesboro, VA, Christopher Roberson of State Farm, VA, Stephanie Bishopriggs of Waynesboro, VA and Dallas Chaplin of Dillwyn, VA; her step-children, Kelly Chaplin and Dee Chaplin of Augusta County, VA; her four grandchildren, Rashawn Roberson, Kymberlie Roberson, Madison Bishopriggs and Brianna Bishopriggs; her great-grandson, Jaxston Davis; her two sisters, Brenda Logwood (Allen) and Carolyn Strickler (Jerry) all of Staunton and a number of nieces and nephews and extended family members.

The family will have a Private Celebration of Life for family and close friends at 131 Buckboard Road, Waynesboro at 5:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 4, 2022.
