Tyler Nathaniel Phillips, 27, of Lyndhurst, passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024 at VCU Medical Center, Richmond. He was born June 25, 1996 in Fishersville. Tyler’s final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ donation.
Tyler loved fishing, video games and anime and he had a true passion for all animals, especially dogs and cats.
Tyler was preceded in death by his grandparents and many other family members including his best friend, Thomas Twisdale.
He is survived by his mother, Tisha Phillips of Staunton, his father, Perry Coffey, Jr. (Junior) of Lyndhurst, his half sister, Bobbi Jo Coffey of Staunton and his Special Loving Aunt Barbara Frazier of Afton. Tyler also is survived many aunts, uncles and cousins and he also had many close friends who were like family to him.
No services are planned at this time.
Donations in Tyler’s honor may be made to the Staunton Fire Department, by designating Tyler’s name and mailing to the Staunton Fire Department, 500 N. Augusta St., Staunton, VA 24401or to Augusta County Fire – Rescue by designating Tyler’s name and mailing to Augusta Fire – Rescue, P. O. Box 590, Verona, VA 24482.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the Staunton Fire Department, and Augusta County Fire - Rescue.
