Thomas Randolph Rigby, 77, of Chester, Virginia, passed away on January 5, 2023, in Fishersville, Virginia.
Thomas “Randy” Rigby was born in Richmond, Virginia on June 16, 1945 to Dorothy and Thomas Rigby, Jr. Randy grew up in Matoaca, Virginia. He was a proud veteran of the US Army and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal as well as three Good Conduct Medals and a Marksman badge. Randy was a glazier and a Master NGA glass technician who continued to work in the glass industry after retirement. Randy was a member of the American Legion and was involved in numerous classic car clubs for several decades. While stationed in Germany, he was a member of the Sembach Automotive Timing Association and has fond memories of racing on the Autobahn.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Thomas Rigby Jr, his loving wife, Sally, and his loving brother, Robert Rigby, Sr.
Randy leaves behind his sister-in-law, Sharon Rigby, nephew, Robert Rigby, Jr., and his niece Rose (Terry) Bailey, whom he affectionately referred to as “his partner in crime”. He also leaves behind several great-nieces and great-nephews, Megan, Ayla, Brynlee, Teddy, Tatum, Kristina, and Samantha.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held at Blandford Cemetery, in Petersburg, Virginia, on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at 1p.m.
