Thomas Watkins Lowery

Thomas Watkins Lowery, 83, of Waynesboro, beloved son, husband, father and friend, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 13, 2018.

He was born June 10, 1935 in Waynesboro to the late Thomas and Maude Lowery. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Lowery; sisters, Juanita Lowery and Frances Hughes; sons-in-law, David Parrish and David Bryant.

Thomas retired from Bank of America after 40 years of service. He was an active member of First Baptist Church for 50 years, which he served 10 years as treasurer. He was a member of the Masonic Lee Lodge, Exchange Club and Lions Club. He was an avid fan of the Waynesboro Generals for over 60 years.

He is survived by his daughters, Katherine Parrish, Juanita Boppe (Gordon), Mary Lowery, Tammy Thompson (Scott); grandchildren, Matthew Parrish, Brian Parrish, Brandie Stevens, Samuel Boppe, Daniel Boppe, Michelle Lowery, Kaitlyn Thompson, Meaghan Thompson; three great granddaughters, with one on the way.

The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, where Masonic Rites will be rendered at 7:00pm by the Waynesboro Masonic Lodge.

A graveside service will be held 11:00am on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Riverview Cemetery in Waynesboro.

Following the graveside, a memorial service held at 12:00pm at First Baptist Church, 301 S. Wayne Ave., Waynesboro, VA 22980.
