Tawana Dawn Floyd, 55, of Waynesboro, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 7th, 2020. Tawana was born on April 23rd, 1965 in Waynesboro, daughter of the late Bunton E. Avis Jr. and Helen A. Stevens. She was a loving and nurturing person and will be sadly missed.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, “Donnie” Floyd who passed away on June 29, 2018 and by her daughter Stephanie.
She is survived by four daughters, Megan Brown and her husband Otis of Verona, Samantha Welcher and her husband, Shawn and their children, Caleb and Jamie of Goshen, Katlynn Floyd and Chris Thompson of Dayton and Jasmine Floyd of Staunton; one son, Robert Floyd of Staunton; two brothers, Rodney Avis of Bath County and Rickie Avis of Charlottesville; one sister, Laura O’Brien and her husband, Mike of Waynesboro and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be scheduled for a later date due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Waynesboro First Aid Crew, 201 West Broad Street, Waynesboro, VA 22980.
