Tammy Lynette (Hoy) Humphreys, 55 of Waynesboro, Virginia passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, August 2, 2025.

Tammy was born on October 31, 1969 in Waynesboro, VA. She was the daughter of Mary Ann Fitzgerald and the late Thomas W. Hoy, both of Waynesboro.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Humphreys; sister, Melinda Ann Fitzgerald; and grandparents Jim and Stella Serba and Otho and Ruth Hoy.

Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Mary Ann and Glenn Fitzgerald of Waynesboro, her children, David Foster II and wife, Megan of Hot Springs, Shawn Foster and fiancé, Madison of Grottoes, Kelsee Hoy and fiancé, Jacob of Crozet; her sister, Christina Wilson and husband, Randy of Galax, and her brother, Tommy Hoy and girlfriend, Brandi of Stuarts Draft. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Zachariah Foster, Levi Foster, and Andrew Foster; very special nieces and nephews, Tyler Hoy, Brandon Hoy, Cheyenne Staples, Ricky Wilson and Ashley Wilson and her best friend, Carol Cunningham who was like a sister to her; her aunt, Peggy Brown and uncle, Jim Serba and wife, Dodie along with many very special cousins.

Anyone who knew Tammy knew what a special person she was. She was one of the most compassionate, understanding, and strong-willed person that you would ever meet. She was a loving and devoted wife, daughter and mother, and was extremely proud of her three children. Her favorite childhood memory was growing up with her family and friends at the Skate-A-Rena which was owned by her late grandparents, Jim and Stella Serba.

She enjoyed going to the Galax Fiddler’s Convention every year with her dad Tommy, watching her brother and nephew race, and hanging out with her best friend Carol, but the one thing she looked forward to every day was calling her cousin Darin in Texas and spending hours on the phone with him while they watched wrestling together.

Tammy was a fighter, and even though she fought hard to the end, she passed peacefully with grace and dignity surrounded by her loving family. She truly cherished her friends and family, the special times they shared and the beautiful memories they created together.
