Shawnessy Denette (Wooten) Smith Whitney , 47, of Waynesboro, VA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12th, 2025, after a long illness.

Born in South Charleston, WV, Shawnesssy attended high school and technical college in Spartanburg, SC.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Joan Waller of Murrells Inlet, SC, and maternal grandparents, Rhuel and Virgie Craddock of South Charleston, WV.

She is survived by her son's, Justin Smith(Abby) of Mayo SC and Brandon (Victoria) Willis of Greer, SC, sister Amber (Erik) Abbott of Myrtle Beach, SC and stepfather, Lewis Waller of Murrells Inlet, SC.

A celebration of life will be held in the fall.
