Samuel Clay Taylor

Samuel Clay Taylor, 61, of Stuarts Draft, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 14, 2025. He was born in Waynesboro on June 29, 1964, a son of the late Casper A. Taylor, Sr. and Madeline Ware Thomas-Taylor.

Samuel graduated from Wilson Memorial High School. He worked as a production worker at Little Debbie’s in Stuarts Draft. Samuel was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Restoration Ministries where he sang in the choir. Decorating, catering, and landscaping were a few of his favorite hobbies.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Casper A. Taylor, Jr. and Kenneth Lee Taylor, Sr.

Survivors include his sisters: Cynthia Williams of Waynesboro, Florence Graves (John) of Fishersville, Diane Chuks of Waynesboro, and Linette Taylor of Stuarts Draft; brothers, Rafael Taylor of Waynesboro and Gary A. Taylor (Carlette) of Northern Virginia; his aunt, Constance Ware of Clinton, Maryland; many nieces and nephews, and special friend, Eric Payne.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00pm, Thursday, October 23, 2025 at Oak Grove Baptist Restoration Ministries, 223 Oak Grove Church Rd., Waynesboro, VA 22980, conducted by Bishop Dr. Theodore E. Payne, Sr., Senior Pastor.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Hospice of the Piedmont and to Samuel’s nieces: Stacey Graves, Camille Coleman, Chiaka Hofmann, and Zimako Chuks for their loving care of him in his final days.
