Samantha Dawn “Sam” Gandee, 26, of Waynesboro passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 16, 2022. She was born in Richmond on December 20, 1995, a daughter of Marcus Don and Mary Elizabeth Gandee.
Sam was a graduate of Waynesboro High School. She attended PVCC in the nursing program and had most recently been accepted into the BRCC Paramedic School. Sam worked as an EMT at Augusta Health and she served as a volunteer with Dooms Fire Department. She loved helping others in her job at the ER and through her volunteer time at the fire department. Sam also was a cosmetologist and enjoyed helping others feel good about themselves. Sam loved animals, especially owls, and hiking. She was crafty and an avid reader. She enjoyed singing and music.
Sam was preceded in death by her great-grandfather, Donald Blankenship; grandfather, Alfred Gandee; and cousin, Chris Gandee.
In addition to her parents, left to cherish her memory is her step mother, Dagmar Gandee of Red Oak, OK,; brother, John Gandee of Waynesboro; step-brother, Alessio Boscardi of OK; grandparents, Shirley Gandee of OK, John and Mickie Wilson of Waynesboro; great-grandmother, Lavern Blankenship of OK; Uncles: Gary Wilson of North Carolina, Joe Wilson and wife, Christy of Richmond, Fred Gandee and wife, Jenny of OK, and Kenny Gandee and wife, Jennifer Watkins of AR; aunt, Bekki Wilson of Waynesboro; as well as extended family and friends.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Lawson and Elder Scott Cline officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2022 at the funeral home.
