Russell Franklin Brown

Russell Franklin Brown, 88, of Lyndhurst, Virginia, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Lyndhurst, Virginia on April 1, 1934, a son of the late James and Esther Brown.

Russell proudly served and retired honorable from the United States Coast Guard and the Navy where he earned many medals and certificates.  He was a member of the National Rifle Association. Riding motorcycles, Judo, Karate, and Taekwondo were a few of his favorite hobbies. If you know Russell then you know he greeted everyone with “Hey ugly” and all of his stories started with “You see”.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by all his brothers and sisters: Charlie, James, Clyde, Rudolph, Otho, Pauline, Nancy, Roxy, and Sandy. Russell was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons: Miguel Brown and wife, Migdalia; Russell E. Brown, and Earl Brown and wife, Annette; grandchildren: Michelle Brown, Russell Brown, Yahaira Brown, Zuelyka Brown, Michael Brown and wife, Allie, Dominique Brown, and Noah Norman; great grandchildren: Sansia Brown, Marena Rivera, and soon to be born, Luca Brown; a host of nieces and nephews; as well as extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2pm on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home in Fishersville, Virginia.

A special thank you to his best friend Forest Ralston for all his care for Russell over the years. As well as his nieces and nephews: Jacklyne Brown, Denny Brown, and Gilda Brown for the loved they showed Russell.
