Ruby Lee (Sprouse) Barnett

Ruby Lee Barnett, 91, of Batesville, VA, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 in Crimora, VA surrounded by her loving family. Ruby was born on August 12, 1933 in Charlottesville to the late Ruppert Sprouse and the late Lutie Sprouse. Ruby retired in August of 1995 from Con Agra after 32 years of service. The family extends a sincere thank you for the care and help for Ruby to her daughters, Brenda Mejia and Linda Breeden; granddaughter, Lindsay Shiflett, grandsons, Jesse Mejia and his wife, Sara, and Adam Mejia and his wife, Sara. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Sprouse; sisters, Nora Church, Margaret Shifflett, Virginia Hicks and Maxine Garrison, and a grandson, Keith Sieles. Ruby is survived by her son, Sonny Drury Barnett; daughters, Patsy Treakle, Linda Breeden and her husband, Harry and Brenda Mejia and her significant other, Zyndall Shiflett; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home in Fishersville, VA, where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 am in the chapel conducted by Pastor Billy Coffey. Burial will follow at Wild Rose Cemetery in Batesville, VA.
