Ronnie Lee Hyden, 79, of Bedford, Virginia, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 31, 2026. He was born February 27, 1947, son of the late Clyde Glenwood Hyden and the late Polyphemus “Polly” Duff Hyden.
Ronnie was retired from General Electric, a member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and a former Boy Scout Leader. When younger he was a well known drummer in Waynesboro, Virginia. He loved gardening and watching the Salem High School Spartans play football.
In addition to his parents Ronnie was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Glenn Hyden.
Survivors include his daughter, Cameron Dawn Hyden of Bedford, Virginia; his sister, Kathy Shifflett and her husband, James Shifflett, Jr. of Crimora, Virginia and Ronnie’s special friends, Bill Garber and Steve Deuterman, Sherry Zimmerman, Dee Dunn, Chelsea Letchford, Amanda Letchford, Braxton Lewis, Arianna Lewis, Cameron David Dominic Lewis, Adalynn Arsenault and Chris Lewis.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 8, 2026 in the Chapel of Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, conducted by President Fran Dougherty of the Bedford VA branch of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Interment will follow in Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro.
