Robert P. (Bob) Rutherford

Robert P. (Bob) Rutherford, 89, of Fishersville, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at the Stuarts Draft Christian Home.  He was born August 21, 1934 in Lewisburg, West Virginia, son of the late Owen C. Rutherford and Tennis G. Rutherford.

Bob retired in 1989 as a Supervisor with E. I. DuPont with 27 years of service.  A U. S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War, he served from 1952 until 1955 and was a recipient of the Good Conduct Medal.  He was a member of Mountain View Mennonite Church, V. F. W. Post 10804 and American Legion Post #0186.  Golf, fishing, the outdoors and travel where among his interests.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet G. Rutherford, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara M. Rutherford; his daughters, Pamela S. Pangle and husband, Bradley of Jefferson, Georgia, Julie Dindinger of Stuarts Draft, Jennifer Yancey and husband, Mike of Stuarts Draft and Kim Guertler and husband, Mike of Hartwell, Georgia; his stepdaughter, Tammy Powell and husband, Rick of Grottoes, Virginia; 3 grandsons, 5 granddaughters and 2 step grandchildren; 15 great-grandsons, 6 great-granddaughters, 1 step great-granddaughter and 2 step great-grandsons.

A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Mountain View Mennonite Church, 55 Love Rd., Lyndhurst, VA 22952.
