Richard (Ricky) Wayne Harris

Richard (Ricky) Wayne Harris, 69, of Waynesboro, passed away Monday, March 13, 2023.  He was born in Greenville, Virginia on April 30, 1953, son of the late Chester O. Harris and Madeline P. Harris.

Ricky was a graduate of Riverheads High School and was retired from Wayne-Tex. He was a member of Pines Chapel Presbyterian Church, Greenville.  He enjoyed fishing, was an avid Colts fan and he loved NASCAR Racing, wrestling and camping.

The family would like express a special thank you to the Waynesboro Police Department.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, David Oliver Harris, Randal Lamar Harris and Gary Thomas Harris; his stepson, Brian Clendennen and his nephew, Justin Lamar Harris.

He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Bradley and her husband, Dennis Bradley of Stuarts Draft; his sister, Donna H. Gorden and her husband, Wayne Gorden of Greenville; his longtime girlfriend, Gail Holczer of Waynesboro; friend, Donna C. Harris of Swoope and his nephews, R. W. and Michael Gorden and Matthew and Mark Harris.

A private family service will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery, Stuarts Draft, with Elder Derek Almarode officiating.

The family will receive friends anytime at the home of Wayne and Donna Gorden in Greenville.

The family is being served by the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, Fishersville.
