Richard Anthony "Tony" McCauley

Richard Anthony “Tony” McCauley, 65, of Rockingham, Virginia went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at Augusta Health.  He was born in Waynesboro on April 24, 1960, son the late Hiawatha “Dukie” McCauley and the late Nannie Lee (Yancey) McCauley.

Tony went to Wilson Memorial High School and attended Morning Star Baptist Church, Crimora. He loved to work with Artistic children and enjoyed cooking and entertaining. He very much enjoyed his Corvette, going on trips and fishing.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Aunt Loretta Dunnings (Yancey) for your help with our loved one during his illness. We love you so much!

Also, the family would like to thank the Hospice Team of Amber, Tasha and Wanda of Medi Hospice of Charlottesville for the care shown Tony.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Jocelyn L. (McCauley) Anderson.

Richard Anthony “Tony” McCauley leaves to cherish his memory his six children, Anthony “Ant” Vaughn, Terrence Vaughn, Shanelle McCauley, Eric McCauley, Tyler McCauley and Madeline Grace Lenker; his eight grandchildren, Destiny Wright, Anthony Vaughn, Terrence Vaughan, Ta-zi McCauley, Ta-Mia McCauley, Julian McCauley, Xzavier Vaughn, Zion McCauley and one great-grandson, Demitri; his three sisters, Roxanne Randolph, Vickie Taylor, Terrie McCauley and his sister, Arlene Ratliff; his uncle, Jimmy  and three aunts, Geneva, Loretta and Sandra. He is also survived by a host and nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.  

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, July 3, 2025 at Morning Star Baptist Church, 357 Mine Branch Road, Crimora, VA 24431, conducted by Pastor Rudy Brooks.

The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service.

Serving as Active Pallbearers will be Haywood McCauley, Jr., Dekovin McCauley, George Obie, John Mitchell, Anthony Vaughn Eric McCauley and Al Johnson.
