Philomena “Phyl” Ryan, 71, of Waynesboro passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at her home. She was born in Ireland on May 14, 1952, a daughter of the late Charles Ward and Kathleen O’Brein.
Phyl worked in the Commissioner of the Revenue's office for the City of Waynesboro until her retirement. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her two grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dolly of Ireland.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, John Ryan; son, Cathal “CJ” Duffy and wife, Stephanie; grandchildren, Reagan and Katelyn Duffy; brothers: Greg, Con, Anthony, and Damien all of Ireland, Davy of Boston; sisters: Celia, Veronica, Caroline, Denise, Gina all of Ireland and Gen of England; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family in Ireland.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the nurses at Hospice of the Piedmont who helped care for Phyl in her final days.
There will be no public services.
