Patricia Ann "Pat" Goettel

Patricia Ann “Pat” Goettel, 74, of Stuarts Draft, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Augusta Health in Fishersville. She was born in Mount Kisco, NY, on August 21, 1948, a daughter of the late Patrick and Honoria Harley.

Pat was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and a former member of TOPS.  She served as a caregiver for her daughter and family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Harley.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Richard Goettel; daughter, Kristine Goettel; brother, Daniel Harley and wife, Marguerite, of Chappaqua, NY, and Thomas Harley and wife, Judy, of Endicott, NY;  her twin sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Maxson and husband, Denis of Houston, TX; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11am on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1pm on Saturday, May 17, 2024 at Riverview Cemetery in Waynesboro. Those wish to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Pat’s memory to the Special Olympics of Virginia, www.specialolympicsva.org, or Ride with Pride, www.ridewithprideva.org.
