Pansy A. (Abshire) Smith

Pansy A. Smith, 82, of Lyndhurst, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Pansy was born on November 26, 1942 in Augusta County to the late Thomas J. Abshire and the late Irene Kenner Abshire.

Pansy enjoyed sewing, singing, crafting, traveling, baking and cooking for her family and friends. Before retiring she was a Certified Nursing Assistant and a member of Elkhorn Tabernacle Church in Elkhorn, KY.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Milton Smith; daughter, Rachel Smith Brown; grandson, Charles Alford, Jr.; brothers, Marvin Abshire and Roger Abshire.

She is survived by her loving husband, Donald “Don” Smith; daughter, Esther Smith; son, David Smith; grandchildren, Jessica “Buck” Stevens, Tommy “Lacy” Alford, Jonathan “Rebekah” Smith, Ashleigh Smith, Ben Smith, Antoine Smith, Moses Smith and Justice Smith; great grandchildren, Cameron “Sonya” Stevens, McKenzie Stevens, Sophia Stevens, Braxton Alford, Peyton Alford, Reese Alford, Waylon Alford, Christian Smith, Jonah Smith and Dominick Smith; brother, Woodrow “Evelyn” Abshire; nieces, Melody Holmes, Suzanne Markin and Lisa Roberts; nephews, J.R. Abshire, Tommy Abshire, Gene Abshire and Johnny Abshire; son-in-law, C.O. Alford;  brother-in-law, Albert Smith; sisters-in-laws, Betty Fitzgerald and Shirley Rankin.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home in Fishersville and where a funeral service will be held 1:00pm on Friday, January 31, 2025 in the chapel conducted by Rev. Duane Wall. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Interment will follow at Augusta Memorial Park.
