Ollie Johnson Wells, 81, of Stuarts Draft, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 7, 2025 at her home. She was born in Charlottesville on July 24, 1943, a daughter of the late Edward and Augusta Johnson.
Ollie attended the Rosenwald School System and received her GED in the 1970s from Stuarts Draft Night School. She retired in 1999 from her restaurant. Ollie was a member of Beulah Baptist Church where she served as Trustee, Choir President, and Head of the Kitchen until her health declined. Cooking, Playing softball, spending time with family at gatherings were a few of her favorite hobbies.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Robert Wells Sr.; her daughter, Barbara Ann Wells; her brother, Vance Johnson and her grandson, Phillip W. Goins.
Survivors include her five children, Robert Wells, Jr., Pamela Goins, Gloria Eaves (Michael), Harold Wells, and Eric Wells, Sr.; her nine grandchildren, NiaKietia Goins, Brent Wells (Melissa), Bobbi Eaves, Hannah Brown, Brittany Campbell, Eric Wells, Jr., Jamez Bolden, Kali Bolden, and Elijiah Hoffman; her thirteen great-grandchildren, Braylin Wells, Ava Wells, Camden Wells, Bryson Wells, Sawyer Campbell, Bodhi Campbell, Tre Surpress, Kai Canton, Ameerah Sexton, Christian Sexton, Hailey Boltz, Ava Boltz and Trevor Boltz; her brother, Harold Johnson, Sr. (Emily); her two nieces, Sally Hoge and Chrystal Johnson; her three nephews, Harold Johnson, Jr.(Alice), John and Mark Johnson; special friends, Eva Walker, Margaret Turner, Bertha Britt, Gary Conner, Roxie Randolph, Haywood McCauley, Jr., Mitch Woodard, DeKovin McCauley, and Rosemary Carter.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11am on Friday, April 11, 2025 at Springdale Mennonite Church, 170 Hall School Rd, Waynesboro, with Pastor Gerald Blair officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jason Wells, Shawn Hubbard, J.J. Miller, Juan Crawford, Harold Johnson, Jr., and DeKovin McCauley. Honorary pallbearers will be Mitch Woodard and Steve Blair.
There will be no formal visitation at the funeral home. Those that wish to view and pay their respects may come to Charlton and Groome Funeral Home on Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 9am until 5pm.
