Nelson Eugene Moore

Nelson Eugene Moore, 71, of Waynesboro, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 5, 2022 at Augusta Health.  He was born February 22, 1951, son of the late Winston and Betty Moore.

Nelson was the owner and operator of Moore’s Lawn Care Services for many years.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one grandson, Troy Justice Moore and his late wife, Doris Moore.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Moore; his daughter, Tiffany Moore Simmons and husband, Sam of Staunton; his brother, Danny Moore and his wife, Debbie of Grottoes; his sister, Patricia Mohler of Port Republic; three grandsons, Nicholas Tyree, Drake Tyree and Jaden Tyree; one great-granddaughter, Bentlee Freeman; one step-granddaughter, Sarah Mowles; special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ruby and Bill Simmons of Staunton and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Monday, December 12, 2022 at Middlebrook Church of God, 3121 Middlebrook Rd., Staunton, with Pastor Larry S. Strickler officiating. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery, Rockingham County. Serving as Active Pallbearers will be Shawne Simmons, Michael Mohler, Nicholas Tyree, Mark Simmons, Billy Simmons, Daniel Moore, Derrick Simmons and Sam Simmons.

The family will receive friends from 2-4pm, Sunday, December 11, 2022 at the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Dr., Fishersville.
