Myrtle Fitzgerald Peters

GREENVILLE

Myrtle Marie Fitzgerald Peters, 87, of Greenville, passed away Saturday April 14, 2012 at Waynesboro Manor. She was born June 21, 1924 in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Rev. Woody Fitzgerald and Viola Painter Fitzgerald.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Buford W. Peters, one sister, Betty Fitzgerald and one brother, Donald Fitzgerald.

Myrtle enjoyed sewing and music.

She is survived by two sons, Murphy Peters and his wife, Jane of Greenville and Pastor Richard Peters and his wife, Becky of Stuarts Draft; four sisters, Alma Rickman, Rachel Conner, Rebecca Rankin and Ruth Cook; three brothers, Charles Fitzgerald, Loyd Fitzgerald and Ernest Fitzgerald; four grandchildren, Lucinda Branch, Gina Lindeman, Debra Wolfe and Sarah Cox; six great-grandchildren, Ashley Fish, Kristen Broce, Courtney Wolfe, Logan Wolfe, Brittney Cox and Hannah Cox and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A. M. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 in the Chapel of Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 961 Goose Creek Road, Fishersville conducted by Pastor Billy Coffey. Family and friends will gather at 1:00 P. M. Tuesday at Green Hill Cemetery, Buena Vista for the committal. Active pallbearers will be Scott Fielding, Tommy Conner, Jay Lindeman, Donnie Wolfe, Buddy Cox and Logan Wolfe. Friends of the family will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P. M. Monday April 16th at the funeral home.
