Michael W. "Mike" Carter

Michael W. “Mike” Carter, 55, of Waynesboro went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Mike was born on January 29, 1968 in Waynesboro. He graduated from Stuarts Draft High School in 1986. Before retiring in 2020, he was Vice President of Valley Industrial Piping from April 2004 until June 2019.

Mike was a member of Sherlynd Baptist Church and he loved hunting, fishing, farming, livestock and butchering.

The family extends their gratitude to Sherlyn Baptist Church, John Cresenti and Tim Crowe, Crimora Players, Dana & Chris Craig for fundraising events.

Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lucille Carter and Clyde E. Carter, Sr.

Mike is survived by his wife, Michelle Carter, whom he married on August 3, 2002; children: Brittany A. Carter Greaver, Ashley D. Carter and her boyfriend, Stephan Shifflett and Curtis Hewitt; grandchildren: Olivia Carter, Gracie Greaver, Kayson Hewitt and Raiden Hewitt; father, Clyde E. Carter, Jr.; siblings: Jeff Carter, Lisa Campbell and her husband, Brian and Carrie Hart and her husband, Casey.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 11:00am to 12:30pm at Sherlynd Baptist Church, Lyndhurst VA. Funeral service will be held following the visitation at 12:30 p.m. conducted by Pastor Allen George.

Active pallbearers will be  Justin DeLoach, Josh Truslow, Mike Truslow, Tony Cooke, Henry Cooke, Danny Frazier, Monte Roberson and Robert Moore.

Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Willis, Mark Crawford and RT Tolar.

Follow services entombment will be held at Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro.
