Mary Rae Shelton

Mary Rae Urquhart Shelton, 92, passed away on Sunday, August 24, 2025 in Stuarts Draft, VA. She was born on December 25, 1932, in Keyser, WV to her parents Madge and Raymond Bright.

Mary worked as a banker with Southside Bank.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband, William S. Urquhart.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie Shelton; her daughter, Julie Urquhart Strong and husband, Sam;  her grandson, Matthew Strong;her beloved dog, Sophie; as well as extended family and friends.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Friday, August 29, 2025 at Augusta Memorial Park, 1775 Goose Creek Rd., Waynesboro, VA.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at a later date.

There will be no formal viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
