Marshall Wayne Chittum Obituary

Marshall Wayne Chittum, 77, of Waynesboro passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, May 22, 2021.

He was born July 22, 1943 in Fishersville to the late Lacy Oscar Chittum and the late Gracie Imogene Cash Chittum.

Marshall attended Wilson Memorial High School and was a member of Fishersville Baptist Church. He retired as a Maintenance Mechanic from Mastic. He loved hunting, fishing and spending time with his family at Smith Mountain Lake.

The family extends a special thank you to the Augusta County Sheriff Department and the Rescue Squad.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Patricia P. Chittum; sisters, Polly Chandler, Buelah Cash, Luella Shuey, Elizabeth Crickenberger and Connie Ryder.

He is survived by his daughters, Sherri McCambridge and her husband, Tim of Crimora, Tanya Chittum and her partner, Ernie Beverage of Waynesboro and Crystal Falls of Waynesboro; brother, Jerry Chittum of Stuarts Draft; sister, Alice Huffman and her husband, Benny of Staunton; grandchildren, Tiffany McCambridge and partner, Matthew Layne of Verona, Jesse and Holly McCambridge of Afton, Lacey and Richard Andrews of Crimora, Cody Campbell and partner, Sarah Daughdrill of Fishersville, Scotti Carr and Brent Painter of Sherando, Amber Carr and partner, Jordan Alexander of Sherando and Jessica Falls of Waynesboro; great grandchildren, Gavin Keller, Derick Hughes, Dalton McCambridge, Khye Painter, Jeremih Andrews, Alijah McCambridge; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
