Marion Pearl (O'Connell) Janes

Marion Pearl Janes, 98, of Fishersville, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at Augusta Health, Fishersville, Virginia.   She was born in Somerville, Massachusetts on June 12, 1926, daughter of the late Stephen O’Connell and Annie McCloud O’Connell.

Pearl was a lifelong homemaker, who enjoyed spending time with her family and “Milo”, the family dog. She enjoyed wrestling and loved popping her bubble wrap.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Leo Janes, Sr.; her son, Kenneth Corlin; her sister, Jeanne Reposa and her brothers, Stephen J. O’Connell and Roy O’Connell,

Survivors include her daughter and son, Nancy Lanier and Leo Janes Jr., both of Fishersville; her grandchildren, Charles Lanier, Bonnet Tyndall, Christina Lanier (Tim Smith), Christopher Lanier, Steven Lanier and Aimee McMillan (Kevin McMillan); her great-grandchildren, Joseph Lanier, Jazmin Tyndall, Chase Tyndall, George Tyndall, Skylar Lanier, Connor Lanier, Arianne Smith, Jacob Smith, Jayden Swinson, Lauren McMillan and Cole McMillan and her great-great-grandchild, Bentley Swinson.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Augusta Memorial Park, 1775 Goose Creek Road, Waynesboro, conducted by Pastor David Ball.  Active pallbearers will be Christopher Lanier, Charles Lanier/ Tim Smith, Chase Tyndall, George Tyndall, Joseph Lanier, Connor Lanier, Jacob Smith and Cole McMillan.

The family will gather at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, July 16, 2024, for a family time of visitation.
