Marie’s own written obituary:

Marie was born and raised on a dairy and vegetable farm in Bucks Co., PA.  All of her life she loved farming and the outdoors. When she was 12 years old her Daddy had her on a Farmall tractor driving wagons loaded with tomatoes grown for Campbell Soup Co.  A few years later she learned how to plow and harrow the fields. Here she loved the smell of the earth and felt close to God.

She belonged to the 4-H Club and participated in Home Economics and raised Angus steers in the Baby Beef Club. She graduated from Neshaminy High School, Langhorne, PA in 1952.

After marriage, she and Howard grew and sold fruits and vegetables on their Orchard Hill Farm in PA.  It was a wonderful family life with their 4 children.  All worked hard together and enjoyed many camping trips.

In 1973 they moved to Rockbridge Baths, VA where Howard designed Indian Bottom Campground.

They went back to their first love of growing fruits and vegetables at Heston’s Farm in Waynesboro, VA

Marie enjoyed the aquatics class of AMC Fitness Center.

In later years they enjoyed spending time in their vegetable and flower gardens and just sitting on the front porch, reminiscing and enjoying the great outdoors.
