Lyle Gilbert Evelsizer

Lysle (Lyle) Gilbert Evelsizer, born to the late Rex G. and Pearl Lucille Evelsizer on January 26, 1941 in Eight Four, PA, passed away November 5, 2024 at his home in Waynesboro, VA.  He graduated in 1958 from Trinity High School in Washington, PA and attended Penn Technical Institute in Pittsburgh, PA.

After graduation in 1962 he moved to Waynesboro, VA where he was employed by GE. He was a member of Elks Lodge #2270 for more than 60 years.

On July 3, 1965, he married Donna Lea Weaver Evelsizer.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Dona Jean Evelsizer Hissom and brother-in-law, Robert Hissom; his brothers, Rex G. Evelsizer, Jr and Robert Edward Evelsizer and sister-in-law, Geraldine S. Evelsizer.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years; his daughter, Michelle Evelsizer Peck (Jeffery); his son, Michael Lyle Evelsizer (Misty Kyle); grandsons, Alexander Michael Peck, Caleb Nelson Brink Peck; granddaughters, Taylor Faith Evelsizer Swisher (Josh Swisher) and Jayden Diane Evelsizer and great-granddaughter, Maci Dawn Swisher; sister-in-law, Donna Jean Evelsizer of Ohio. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and his friends.

Funeral services will be held 1:00pm, Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Dr., Fishersville, VA.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the hour of the service. Interment will be in Augusta Memorial Park, Waynesboro, VA.
