Lisa Lee Sandridge

Lisa Lee Sandridge, 66, of Waynesboro, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Augusta Health, Fishersville. She was born on March 13, 1957 in Waynesboro, Virginia, a daughter of the late Johnnie Turner, Sr. and Margaret Smith Turner.

Lisa served as a loving babysitter for a large number of children during her 50 years of service to their families.  At an early age she was a member of Elk Hill Baptist Church in Wintergreen, Nelson County and was an honorary member of St. James Baptist Church, Waynesboro.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Johnnie Turner, Jr., Donnie Smith, Marshall Sandridge and Wayne Turner and two sisters, Margie Howard and Jane Deloris Blakey.

Survivors include her siblings, Roger Turner Sr. and his wife, Janet of Afton, Sandra Sandridge of Scottsville, Brenda Johnson of Millersville, Maryland and Wanda Turner of Scottsville.  Also surviving is a host of honorary children whom she lovingly cared for during her career as a babysitter, a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, on Sunday, October 8, 2023 in the Chapel of Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville conducted by Pastor Sheldon Page Sr.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until the hour of the service and also immediately following the service.
