Linda Carol (Fitzgerald) Harris

Linda F. Harris, 81, of Stuarts Draft, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 10, 2025 a Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on June 16, 1944 in Staunton, a daughter of the late John Franklin and Irene (Conner) Fitzgerald.

Linda was a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School. She retired from Hollister after working as a purchasing agent. Linda was a member of Stuarts Draft Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife and mother. She will be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor, and her passion towards her family endeavors.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Buck” Harris, Jr.; daughter, Cheri Leigh Harris; sister, Bonnie Fitzgerald; brother-in-law, John Harris and niece, Janet Harris.

Survivors include her sons, Charles “Chuck” Harris III, and his wife, Betty and Chad Harris and his wife, Shannon; grandchildren, Lyndsay Harris and  Colton Harris;  three step-grandchildren; one step great granddaughter; sister, Wanda Snead; sister-in-law, Nettie Pierce and her husband, Ronald; nieces: Beatrice Sprouse, Pam Beatty, and Tami Quick; as well as numerous cousins, extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1pm on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Coffey officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Gary Eavers, Bobby Rusmisel, Terry Sager, Dave Beatty, Keith Beatty, and Michael Marshall.

Honorary pallbearers will be her much beloved cousins.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
