Larry W. Harris Sr., 75, of Waynesboro, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at his home. He was born in Augusta County to the late Paul and Helen Harris on March 16, 1949.
Larry proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1972 achieving the rank of a SP5. He loved woodworking, fishing, NASCAR, and bluegrass music. Larry will be remembered for being a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 29 years, Gloria Harris; children, Larry W. Harris Jr., Amanda Brooks (Robert), Bobbi Shifflett, and Michael Harris; grandchildren, Victoria, Robert, Riley, Robert, Imani, Khezion, Charles, William, David, Kylie, Lily, Zeke, Thomas, Skylar and Jenea; great-grandchildren, Athena and Cole; as well as extended family and friends.
Family and friends may assemble at Charlton and Groome Funeral Home at 1:00 P. M. Thursday,April 25, 2024; the procession will leave at 1:30 P.M. to process to Old White Hill Church of the Brethren, 749 Old White Hill Road, Stuarts Draft, where a Graveside Service with Full Military Honors will be held at 2:00 P. M.
Active Pallbearers will be Robert Jr., CJ, William, Trey, Amanda, and Bobbi.
The family of Larry wishes to extend a special thanks to all the nurses with Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah who cared for Larry, especially nurse Jeanie.
