Larry Tracy Monroe

Larry Tracy Monroe, 90, of Waynesboro passed away, Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Shenandoah House. He was born on April 20, 1933 in Augusta County, a son of the late Charles Leonard and Geneva (Cash) Monroe.

Mr. Monroe was a member of Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church. He served in the Air Force from 1950 to 1955.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Monroe and his beloved wife, Mary “Beth” Pannell Monroe, brothers, Paul, Dave, Chester, Fishburne and a sister, Audrey Jack.

Survivors include his children, Tracy Conrad, and grandsons, Tyler and Ryan Conrad of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla, son, Kirk Monroe of Washington, D.C. as well as a number of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Shenandoah House, and to his nephew, Gary Monroe and Jo Ann Hewitt of Waynesboro.

A service with Military Honors and a reception celebrating his life will be held at 2 p.m., on his birthday, Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church, 901 Shenandoah Avenue, Waynesboro, VA 22980.  All are welcome.
