Keith Allan Jones, 80, of Fishersville, Virginia went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at his home.
Born October 28, 1943 in Belleville, Illinois of the late Robert and Edith Jones. His growing up years were spent in Wheaton, Illinois where he attended the Glen Ellyn Bible Church in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. He committed his life to missionary service as a teenager. On June 13, 1964 in Lupton, Michigan, he married Janet Loraine Thayer. The two shared 60 momentous years of marriage together.
Keith grew up in a loving Christian home, accepting Christ as his Savior at an early age. He graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago where he met Jan. Together they pastored a church in Nebraska. Together they served as missionaries in Colombia and Venezuela. In returning to the U.S., they pastored a church in Leavittsburg, Ohio. After 4 years in Ohio, Keith’s heart for missions resurfaced. Together they moved to Virginia to begin another form of ministry to God’s people around the world.
Keith founded and directed the ministry of Equipping the Saints in Weyers Cave, Virginia for 34 years. He served ministries worldwide by providing bibles, equipment and services to enhance the work in their area. He retired in 2023.
Survivors include his wife Janet Jones, his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Heidi Jones of Flowery Branch, Georgia, and two grandchildren, Eden Elise and Micah Thayer Jones. He is also survived by his sister, Jacqueline Raye Carbone of Fort Myers Beach, Florida.
A memorial service will be held at Wayne Hills Baptist Church, in Waynesboro, Virginia on July 20 at 10:00 a.m.
