Karen Harris Obituary

Karen Leigh Harris, 60, went to be with the Lord on December 31, 2023 at her home in Waynesboro.

Karen was born June 19, 1963 in Waynesboro to Ronald Wayne Harris and the late Sylvia Craig Harris, who passed away a few days after Karen on January 5, 2024.

Karen graduated from Stuarts Draft High School and was employed in production at Hershey Chocolate until her recent health decline. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Karen loved her family very deeply and her friends meant everything to her, as well as her beloved fur babies. She was full of love, fun and life and always put others before herself. She truly cherished spending loving time with her large close-knit family and her numerous friends.

Until the recent decline in her health, she could be found at Buggs Island Lake, camping, boating  and fishing or riding her Harley.

Karen had a strong faith and a joyful outlook on life. You could always count on her for whatever was needed. She left us with the gift of many great memories to always remember her by; her fun-loving self and sense of humor will always make us smile. Her four-legged fur babies were a huge part of her life. We will always keep her memory alive through our love and sense of humor.

The family extends a special thank you to all her family and friends who have given so much support through this difficult time, and to Charlton and Groome Funeral Home for taking wonderful care of Karen, Mom, and the family through this past week.

In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Frank and Vivian Harris and maternal grandparents, Clarence and Eloise Craig.

Karen is survived by her father, Ronald Wayne Harris; two sisters, Shanda Harris Fitzgerald of Stuarts Draft and Christina Harris Fauber of Waynesboro; her nephews, Drew Fitzgerald, Alex Fitzgerald and Evan Fitzgerald; her niece, Braelin Fauber; her great nieces, Olivia Mae Fitzgerald, Della Sylvie – Kate Fitzgerald and her beloved fur babies, her dogs, “Han Solo” and “Chewey”, and “Baby”, her cat. She leaves numerous aunts, uncles and cousins whom she loved dearly.

Karen will be remembered along with her mother at a private service to be conducted by Pastor Billy Coffey.
