Johnny E. Roadcap

Johnny E. Roadcap, 81, of Waynesboro, passed away on Friday, August 15, 2025 at Augusta Health.  He was born July 4, 1944 in Augusta County, son of the late Clarence Luther Roadcap and the late Margaret Zimmerman Roadcap.

Johnny was a carpenter in the home building trade.  He started working at the age of 15, shining shoes and retired at the age of 62 after working for 52 years. He was a builder, a tinkerer and a gardener.

The family would like to thank the kind nursing staff and physicians at Augusta Health.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Regina (Gina) Sweeney; his brother, Jimmie Lee Roadcap and three sisters, Nellie (Kitty) Gagliano, Patsy Ann Fix and Peggy Mize.

Survivors include his wife, Carrie L. Roadcap; his sons, Eddie Roadcap of Harrisonburg, Tommy Craig and his wife, Kim of Vesuvius, Glenn Craig and his wife, Bonnie of Waynesboro, Rodney Craig of Fishersville and Ricky Craig and his wife, Bernadette of Newark, Delaware; 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Roger Roadcap and his wife, Mary, Billy Roadcap and Shirley Sears, all of Waynesboro and a good number of nieces and nephews, other family members and special friends.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Waynesboro First Aid Crew, 201 W Broad St., Waynesboro, VA 22980.

At Johnny’s request there will be no services.
