John Samuel Huffman

John Samuel Huffman, 84, of Waynesboro, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022.

John was born on September 10, 1937 in Mt. Crawford to Howard and Mabel Huffman.  He attended Wilson Memorial High School, class of 1954.  He was married to Norma Huffman for 54 years. John worked in different roles in Accounting and Finance at Dupont where he was employed for over 30 years.  He was veteran of the army reserves.  John was a member of Forest Chapel Church of the Brethren.

John was athletic, playing softball for many years and was an avid golfer.  He enjoyed the beach, writing stories, working in his yard, watching and feeding his birds, squirrels and chipmunks, and spending time with his family. 

John was one of 10 siblings.  He was preceded in death by his siblings: Ronnie, Nolan, Jennings, Judy, Steven, and Jean. 

He is survived by his wife, Norma and his brothers: James, Mark, and Fred; his children: Dan (Kathy), Pam (Alan), and Jeff (Sarah); his grandchildren: Danielle (Jason), Samantha (Max), Molly (Doug), Dylan (Maddy), Abby (Graham), Jake, and Ben; his great-grandchildren: Henry, Ethan, and Kevin; and many nieces and nephews.  

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Forest Chapel Church of the Brethren, 36 Crimora Mine Rd, Crimora, VA 24431 and will immediately be followed by a reception in the fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to Forest Chapel Church of the Brethren.
