John Douglas Haynes, 79, of Crimora, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021 at his home. He was born in Charleston, West Virginia on December 2, 1941, the son of Cecil Dale Haynes, Sr. and Ruth Cavender Haynes.
He was a 1959 graduate of Sissonville High School. In 2007 he retired as a truck driver with Rolling B Enterprises. John was a member of Grottoes Church of Christ and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family, golfing and watching old western movies.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Haynes and Cecil Dale Haynes, Jr. and an infant sister.
He is survived by his daughters, Sherri (Carlos) Mata of Stuarts Draft, Sharon (Percey) Alford of Grottoes, Karen (Donald) Quick of Lyndhurst and Amy (Tony) Carderelli of Amherst; thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, with one on the way.
The family will receive friends at his home, 70 Rockwood Circle Crimora, from 12 P. M. until 6:00 P. M. on Monday March 1, 2021. The family is having a private Memorial Service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contribution in his memory to Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah, P. O. 1000, Fishersville, VA 22939.
