Jerry Lynnwood Fox, “JerJer”, 77, of Stuarts Draft, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 25, 1947 in Staunton, Virginia, son of the late Levi L. Fox and the late Lula Belle Fisher Fox.
Jerry was a 1966 Graduate of Wilson Memorial High School and had attended Virginia Tech where he pursued Business Administration and Computer studies. He was Lead Stocker Supervisor with Food Lion, until his retirement in 1990 after 29 years of service. Jerry was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Stuarts Draft.
He served on Active Duty with the United States Air Force from 1966 until his Honorable Discharge in 1970, after which he served in the United States Air Force Reserve from 1970 until 1972. Jerry was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award (1966-1967).
Jerry loved the outdoors, riding his lawn mower and laughing and playing with his children and our family’s beloved dog, “DINO”. He enjoyed reading and watching his favorite Westerns, the Andy Griffin Show and “In the heat of the night”.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Levi Fox who passed in 1953 at one month of age; his niece, Stacy MacLeod and a number of other family members and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Patricia Tinsley Fox; his daughter, Kimberly Joy Fox of Stuarts Draft; his son, Kirk Justin Fox of Stuarts Draft; his nephews, Mark, Seth and Cody and his nieces, Holly, Sara, Stacy and Synnova. All of his many family and friends were all special in his life; he loved every one.
A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 25, 2025, in the Chapel of Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, conducted by Jerry’s nephew, Mark Tinsley with Justina Hodgson, Violinist. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 25th from 1:00 pm until the hour of the service.
