Jerome Franklin Jackson, 65, of Charlottesville, Virginia, departed this life at his residence on Friday, May 22, 2020.
He was born on January 16, 1955 to Anna Mae Berry and the late Fred Berry of Waynesboro.
Jerome leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother, Anna Mae Berry of Waynesboro; son, Frederick McCarthy; daughters, Tonika McCarthy and Tawana McCarthy all of Waynesboro and Jeronda Williams (Dominique) of Charlottesville.
He also leaves behind his sisters, Shelley Blair (Mike), Belinda Berry, Debbie Deffenbaugh, Freda Berry, Vickie Berry, Bonita Woodson (Franklin), Penny Berry and a brother, Fred Berry, Jr., also left to cherish his memories are his loving grandchildren, Brittani, Lashe, Kadiyah, Ja’Tasia, Ajee, Qualeek, Justin, Maurice, Kysiah, Tasheed, Xavier, Antoine and Anaiyah; great grandchildren, Takiah, Deante’, Jamie and Kyden and numerous aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Jerome was known for his great ability on the Waynesboro Football field, which he earned the name, “Zip”, for his running and athletic abilities. He was an avid Redskins fan and loved spending time with his family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Jerome Franklin Jackson may be made to Charlton and Groome Funeral Home, 619 Lifecore Drive, Fishersville, VA 22939 to assist the family with finial expenses.
