Jean A. Van Fossen, 81, of Lyndhurst, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021 in Charlottesville.
Jean was born on June 23, 1940, in Charlottesville, daughter of the late Lacy H. and Norma J. Belew. She was raised in Charlottesville and attended Lane High School. She married in 1961.
Jean spent many years working with students with special needs for Waynesboro Public Schools and later driving a bus for students with special needs for Augusta County Public Schools.
Jean’s greatest love was her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and the pets she shared her life with. She had such a giving heart and would go out of her way to make sure that the people she loved were remembered. She was a lover of animals, cooking, crafting and sewing.
Jean is survived by her children, Tammy Sours (Rusty) of Lyndhurst and Robert Van Fossen Jr. also of Lyndhurst, grandchildren, Ben Sours and Bethanne Wheeler (Josh), great-grandchildren, Makaylyn and Kenzley Wheeler and her brother, Doug Belew of Charlottesville. She also leaves behind her grand-dogs, Sadie, Semper and Bella.
A celebration of life will be held on July 17th at 10:00 am at Ridgeview Park Serenity Garden adjacent to 600 Northgate Ave in Waynesboro, officiated by Pastor Josh Wheeler.
